Buying guides that explain what the specifications actually mean

Synaptic Web Tech covers electric vehicles, powered outdoor equipment, workshop tools, and connected consumer hardware for readers in the United States. We are not a retailer. What we publish is written to help you understand a product listing before you spend money on it.

Most buying advice in these categories repeats whatever number the manufacturer put in the title. That number is often the least useful one available — a peak wattage figure the motor cannot sustain, or a range estimate measured under conditions nobody rides in. Our guides work the other way round: they tell you which specifications carry real information, how to compute the ones that are not printed, and what a listing leaving something out is telling you about the seller.
